Virginia Louise Douglas was born on September 12, 1941 to the to the late Mindy and Fred Smith. She was the 10th child of 11 children. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Winfred L Douglas, brothers and sisters Fred Smith Jr George Smith John Smith Josephine Easter Edna Jones Juanita Whitfield Gloria Whitfield.
Virginia graduated from O'Fallon Technical High School in St Louis Missouri after graduation she pursued a career as a nursing assistant at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St Louis Missouri.
In April 1964 she was United in holy matrimony to Winfred L Douglas. To this Union Virginia acquired two bonus children Winfred L Douglas Jr and Rhonda V Douglas Westfall. During that marriage she birthed Gary H Douglas and Stephanie A Douglas. Virginia pursued a career at Mendel Press Printing Company. After several years she went to Fleming printing company where she retired from after working 34 years.
After retirement Virginia worked part-time at McGrath Elementary School. For many years Virginia was an avid church member. She joined First Baptist Church of Webster Groves and became a diaconate member. Virginia leaves to cherish her loving memory, her three wonderful sisters Mary Fay Marcelo, Daisy Lee Johnson, Victoria Smith Green and her sister-in-law Vedell Smith, 12 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces nephews cousins and church family and friends.
