Vernon L. Brooks III

Vernon Lee Brooks, III was born January 31, 1989 to the union of
Vernon Lee and Linda René Brooks. He was the first of four boys
born to this union. He was the dad to Kortney Jaeden and Raina
Aniece. He attended the Rockwood School District and South
Technical High School. He graduated from Eureka High School in
2007.
Vernon accepted Christ into his life at an early age at Metro Christian
Worship Center and was baptized. He re-dedicated his life to Christ in
January 2012.
Vernon was very athletic and musically inclined. He played on the
Eureka Wild Cats Varsity Football Team; was the Rookie of the Year
on the Eureka Diving Team; and played the baritone saxophone in
the Eureka Marching Band.
He was mechanically inclined and planned to attend Ranken
Technical College and major in Heating and Cooling.
He worked for Dish Network and was presently employed at the Saint
Louis Public Library.
On Sunday, November 9, 2014, Vernon departed this life.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother ~ Linda; father ~ Vernon
Jr.; three brothers ~ Jared, Xavien and Jonathan and one half brother
~ Jonathan Brown; two children ~ Kortney Jaeden and Raina Aniece;
one grandmother ~ Mattie Girlean Young; one grandfather ~ Ranzy
Lee Young; an uncle ~ Marvin Young: an aunt ~ Kimberly Lynnette
Young; a cousin ~ Marvin Young, Jr.; cousins ~ Sheridan Young,
Cassidy Young, Kathleen Young, Ja'Tarra Brooks and Myranda
Brooks; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
