Deacon Marie K Hill of First Baptist Church of Webster Groves passed away from this life on July 1st, 2025 the year of our Lord to continue her journey with God. Marie Katherine Johnson was born on October 5th, 1932 to Pearl & Agnes Johnson in New Haven, MO. To that union were three children, Anna Lee Baker (Theodore Baker), Marie K Hill (Ransom Hill), and Frank Jack Johnson. Later when her father remarried , she was joined by bonus brothers Maynard and Lane White, and two more siblings Greg Allen (who preceded her in death) and baby sister Sherlitta Brewster.
Marie K Johnson went on in life to marry Ransom Hill and they built a legacy for 60 plus years that still lives on. Marie K Hill was no stranger to hard work. Marie was an outgoing vibrant woman of God. Marie worked at St Louis County Hospital as a CNA, and she was a caregiver to all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and clients for over 40 years. She lived life to the fullest, always on the go never stopping too long and a stranger never remained a stranger. She was featured in a book “Rollin on the River” The Story of the Admiral in St. Louis, she loved St Louis City and all it had to offer. Marie was an honored member of the famous St Louis Zoo where she kept an open membership for any and all new additions to the family to enjoy together on any given day it was a party. She was a virtuous woman even as a young lady she stepped up to responsibility and the whole time had the beauty of God in her eyes.
Marie K Hill enjoyed cooking, sewing, and most of all being a homemaker and keeping her grandchildren and bonus grandchildren Jayden and Giana Bonner. She
loved taking all of them on outings and watching them grow up into fine and accomplished adults. She loved life and sharing family time camping and traveling.
Marie was a devoted and authentic woman; she enjoyed herself self-most when serving the Lord at First Baptist Church of Webster Groves as an active Deacon,
Church Sewing Circle, and on the Usher Board. She did whatever that was asked, nothing too big, nothing too small; she loved serving the Lord. Marie always had the doors to her house open no matter the age or whichever friend you were, you had a place at the “Hill House”. At the “Hill House” you were always greeted with a smile, a good time and good food. She was certain of that every visit! Marie enjoyed working in her garden and laughing with family and friends but most of all her best friend Deacon Ransom Hill who preceded her in death. The doors of her home and heart were always open to whoever entered. They were given love and encouragement with no judgment. She was a woman of a lot of lively and fun life stories, but when she spoke you listened and her words are the ones you take heed to and hold true to your heart. Marie K Hill was the Mother to Erwin Wayne (Terry Hill) & Sharon Hill-Taylor (Nelson Taylor) , grandmother of Jason Kevin & Michelle Hill, Justin Taylor, Nelson & Sheila Taylor, Spencer & Renita Taylor,Jayden & Giana Bonner & Melissa Hill, great grandmother of Jocelyn & Jason Kevin & Aaliyah Hill & Noah Taylor, Spencer Taylor Jr, Isaac &Isla & Ison, and great great grandmother to Jacqueline Kapri Hill, and a surrogate Mother and grandmother to a host of nieces, nephews,(Texas Family We Love You), cousins and friends. We love you over and over Marie, Nanny, Mother, Deacon!!
