Leroy Thomas Sr.

Leroy Thomas, Sr was born on December 5, 1927 in Marvell, Arkansas to the union of Talmudge (Tee) Thomas and Lillie Mae Thomas. He was affectionately known as Lil Bud by his family. He was educated in Marvell, Arkansas. Attended church in Gumbottom named St. Matthew MB Baptist Church. He married Clara Hull from that union was Dorothy (Willie Griffin), and Lonester. He also has another daughter named Barbara from another union.

Leroy Thomas, Sr met the love of his life, Bessie Akins which they married on May 11, 1962. From this union came 8 children named Leroy Jr, Machelle, Jerome, Cynthia (Curtis McClain), Victoria, Vickie, Alvin, and Richard. He leaves behind 23 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 sisters – Lillie Misher, Mamie Misher, host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded him in death was his son, Lonester, and granddaughter, Asha C. Thomas, 4 siblings – Cedell, Willie, Eula, and Rosetta.

Our father was a wonderful husband. A stern disciplinary who was a quiet giant whose actions spoke loudly. Retired from Sigma Chemical Company after 32 years. He left the way he wanted in the presence of his wife.
