Hilra Roach was born in Meridian, Mississippi November 30, 1935, to the union of John and Esther Roach and raised in loving care by John and Juanita Roach. A graduate of Douglass High School and Columbia College, Hilra served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force before retiring. Following the military, he worked for Bi-State Development and retired after 15 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Webster Groves and sang in the male chorus. Married 65 years, Hilra leaves to cherish his memory, wife Edna Roach, daughters Vicki Rodriguez (Benito) and Donna Sharp; The oldest of two sons, Hilra is survived by brother William Roach (Annette). He also leaves behind four grandchildren Natasha Davis (Damon), Kendrick Washington, Donna Shaw (Douglas), Kristine Hendrix; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
