Henry L Houston Junior was born on March 28, 1934, to Sadie Hoskins and Henry
L. Houston, Sr.
Henry was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Sammie Lee; sister, Ruthie Lee;
and two daughters, Lauretta Hubbard and Cynthia Staples.
Henry was educated in the St. Louis Public School District. After school, he moved to
Detroit, Michigan, to work at the General Motors plant as an assembly line worker.
Henry moved back to St. Louis, Missouri, as a maintenance technician in the Cochran
Apartments. He married Barbara Blackman, and to this union, three daughters, Sheila,
Lauretta, and Yvonne, were born.
Henry was a loving man adoring his family. He was a hard worker and would often take off
time to just simply ride his bike.
Henry leaves to cherish his memory: two loving daughters, Sheila (Percy) Bishop and Yvonne
Houston; one sibling, Gloria Jean Hoskins; four nephews, Robert Lee and Leroy Lee, Chris
Lee, and Michael Lee; three nieces, Melody Lee, Annada Hoskins And Jamie Hoskins; best
friend, John Lamply; and a host of many grandchildren, great-grand children, family, and
