Helen Landrum was born July 7, 1947, in Gregory, Arkansas. Her parents, Clifford and Anna Rodgers, along with siblings, Barbara, Billy Jack, Jimmie, Charles, Sandra Faye, Brenda, Rose & Clifford Stephen, preceded her in death.
Helen accepted Christ at an early age and was educated in Augusta, Arkansas. She later moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she met the love of her life Genthry Landrum. They were united in holy matrimony on March 22, 1967. To this union one child, Gary Genthry Landrum, was born. Helen and Genthry shared 56 years together until his passing in May 2023.
Helen was employed at Jewish Hospital, F.W. Woodworth and later as one of the first black women to be employed by General Motors Corporation where she was a loyal and devoted employee for 30 years until her retirement in June 2008.
Helen was a kind and gentle soul. She loved and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen enjoyed gardening and being a Foodie.
Helen departed this life on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Evelyn’s House (Hospice).
Helen leaves to cherish her loving memory: son, Gary Landrum; goddaughter, Iris Diltz; three grandchildren, Gary Landrum, Jr. of Kansas City, MO; Corneshia Landrum and Shagarrica Landrum, both of Macon, MS; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Jerry Rodgers and sister, Carolyn Petty, both of St. Louis, MO; five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; one very special niece, Deirdre Rodgers; four very special friends; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and lifelong friends.
