Edward Hughes Jr was born on March 1935 to the union of Louetta Hughes and Edward Hughes Sr. He was raised in the Catholic faith attended St Bridget's Catholic Elementary School. He attended St Nicholas Church then returned to St Bridget's Catholic Church where he remained a member until his death. Upon graduating Vashon High School he enlisted in the United States Airforce where he became a Sgt. in the Korean War. He retired from the military after twenty-seven years with three honorable discharges. He worked at Raffie Vending Company, He later worked for Parkway School District retiring after 15 years of service.
Edward Hughes Jr and Nina Lewis were joined in matrimony. To this union was born Debra, Zarifa, Edward III, Monica, Jacinta
Following his divorce he met a loving friend Elora Clark to this union Timothy was born.
He later married Shirley J Brewer, with a blended family Kim Ethel, Sheree Van, Jerome Nick Van Jr, to this union was born Terrance.
He was affectionately called Pluke, uncle pretty by his family and friends. He enjoyed family gatherings at the lake and fishing. He was a member of Medina Temple,
Preceding him in death were his father Edward Hughes Sr, mother Louetta Hughes; Sister Maxine Henderson, brothers Richard Hughes, Norvel Hughes, Howard Hughes; daughters Jacinta Hughes, Kim Ethel.
Left to cherish his memory children; Debra Edwards, Zarifa Ghani, Edward Hughes III, Monica Tyler, Timothy Clark, Sheree Van, Jerome NIck Van Jr, Terrance Hughes(Sandra); siblings Joan Woods, Rita Payne, Loren Hughes (Pauline); sister-in laws Lula Hughes, Laverne Hughes; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
