It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claude Allen Stifle Jr., who peacefully left us on September 7, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on August 16, 1933, Claude lived a long and fulfilling life, devoted to his family, work, and community.
In December 1953, he married the love of his life, Vivian Victoria Stifle, and shortly after, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served honorably at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. During his service, he was a skilled crane operator and also worked as a motor pool sergeant, ensuring his fellow soldiers were always ready for the tasks ahead.
After his discharge, Claude embarked on a varied and successful career. He first worked at Moog and later at McDonnell Douglas, contributing to significant advancements in technology and industry. Never one to shy away from new opportunities, he went on to manage a Shell station, where his strong work ethic and leadership shone through.
However, his entrepreneurial spirit truly took root when he founded Stifle's Auto Repair around the Overland Trail, a business that became a staple of the community. His dedication to his craft, integrity, and warmth made him beloved by customers and neighbors alike.
Claude will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his unwavering commitment to his family, his love for his community, and his generous heart. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and resilience.
Claude was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vivian Victoria Stifle and daughter, Vallen Christine Stifle. He is survived by his son, Claude Allen Stifle III, who will cherish his memory and carry forward his love and values.
