Sandra M. Askew

Sandra Mae Askew was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 15, 1956
to Isaiah Hachette and Mattie Brown. Both parents and four siblings
preceded her in death.
She received her formal education in the St. Louis Public School system.
Sandra loved to play cards, enjoyed music, loved to cook and enjoyed
spending time with her family and friends. She was a comedian
extraordinaire!
She accepted Christ at an early age under Pastor P.W. Jones at New
Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She met and married Melvin Askew on January 31, 1975. During this union
they enjoyed raising two beautiful daughters, LaWanda and Cassandra.
Sandra was a joy to her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She transitioned from her earthly body on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Oak
Park Nursing Home.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, LaWanda Johnson
and Cassandra Askew of St. Louis, Missouri, five grandchildren, Jada,
Jaz'Mine, KeAndre, Kevon and Jalise, two great grandchildren, KeAndre
Jr. and Martez , six sisters, Mae Helen Weaver, Delores Blue (John),
Gwendoyn Flakes , Patricia White (Michael) Gloria Stewart, and Sharon
Robinson (Jessie), two brothers, Gerald Brown and Perry Johnson (Terry) a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
